Hi all,

Let season start and everyone want to go there as our advise after first leh trip 2017. Srinagar route best for leh trip before amarnath ji yatra start and people hire car from agencies yellow or black they are not allowed this season too. White number you can drive  but with proper papers and documents.

If you are happy with hire local taxi or bike then use yellow number plate.

Few tips while traveling Leh Ladakh Trip.

If you are using Bike or using self drive suv for leh ladakh or personal car.Follow few important points.

  1. Delays in Journey – Donot try to cover all trip in hurry, Just rest in your journey and enjoy the nature.Do not push your body beyond its limits, take enough rest. And if you feel sleepy while driving/riding…
  2.  Communication – Try to carry postpaid connection of BSNL that will use in Leh. It works in more places than any other provider. Keep note down emergency number during the journey.
  3. Identification – Always carry two three copies of your proof like Licsence, Adhar card. Also, for traveling to Pangong Tso and other interior parts, you may be asked to submit copies at checkpoints.
  4. Medical Emergency – Always consult your doctor before start the trip and carry all necessary medicines. Even note down the emergency medical numbers and do checkup in local hospitals if required.
  5. Monetary –  Do carry ATM and extra cash also do ask rates of food before you order.

ALTHOUGH THE SRINAGAR-LEH or MANALI-LEH ROUTE IS STILL CLOSE, BUT IT IS ALSO TRUE THAT THE RIDERS HAVE STARTED CHURNING OUT PLANS FOR THIS MYSTIQUE LAND OF HIGH PASSES.

Those who plan to conquer Khardung la keep posting their plans on this forum SO THAT OTHERS, IF INTERESTED, MAY JOIN IN.

Srinagar – Leh : Route Likely to be opened on 07.05.2015 (Was Closed on 23.12.2014 and had opened on 2.05.2014)
Manali to Leh – ROUTE CLOSED. (7.11.2014) (Opened on 7.6.2014 in 2014)
Kargil/Drass to Sonmarg 4 a.m. to 9 a.m. & Sonmarg to Drass/Kargil : 12 noon onwards – ROUTE CLOSED DUE TO BAD WEATHER – 23.12.2014
Simla-Kaza : Open
Kaza – Gramphoo -:CLOSED (23.12.2014 DUE TO BAD WEATHER) Opened on 02.07.14.
